5. Do you offer virtual, as well as in-person sessions?

  • Yes, both options are available.

6. What inspired to you to become a therapist?

  • It's an absolute passion of mine to support people to live the life they want; every client I work with continually deepens my passion for this work.

  • Due to my work experience and personal experience, I’ve always been drawn to the field of mental health and working with people to feel better in themselves and have hope. I personally have used hypnotherapy for pregnancy/birth. I found it to be incredibly effective and empowering in helping me to feel in control and manage my symptoms, so much so that I decided to become a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist!

  • Yoga has been a part of my life for nearly 2 decades; I am a trauma-informed yoga facilitator with a special interest in:

    • the healing power of somatic movement;

    • how trauma can be held in the body;

    • how hormones affect both physical and mental wellbeing

    • the benefits of yoga for anxiety and depression.

  • What types of therapy do you offer?
    Therapy sessions involve solution-focused hypnotherapy and psychotherapy; this is a powerful and effective combination of psychotherapy techniques and clinical hypnosis. For therapeutic yoga sessions, these typically include emotional and physical check ins, trauma-informed practice, various restorative postures, aspects of mindfulness and deep relaxation.
  • What happens in hypnosis?
    vv
  • How many hypnotherapy sessions will I need?
    The beauty of solution focused hypnotherapy is how fast-acting it can be - often taking just 6-12 sessions. Sessions are normally held weekly in the beginning; this is great for helping you to build in consistency. Sessions will sometimes move to fortnightly, or monthly should you wish. How many sessions, and for how long, really does vary depending on the individual and what you'd like support with. As an example: Some people want specific support around a fear or phobia - this usually only requires 3 sessions. Some people have a longer block of sessions - for something like chronic anxiety or panic attacks - and once they feel they can manage themselves and are back in control, they may have the occasional "top-up" session to maintain the work they've done and stay on top of things!
  • Do you offer virtual therapy sessions, as well as in-person sessions?
    Yes, both options are available.
  • Do you offer lower cost sessions?
    Yes, I offer lower cost sessions for people with no income.
  • Are you registered with a professional body?
    Yes, I am registered and accredited with The Association for Solution Focused Hypnotherapy (AfSFH)
  • What is your training and certification?
    I am qualified in Solution-Focused Clinical Hypnotherapy and Psychotherapy (from the internationally renowned Clifton Practice CPHT school), this includes Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Clinical Hypnosis. I am a 300hour trained Yoga Teacher, qualified at the Bristol School of Yoga, this also includes additional modules taken elsewhere. My in-depth training includes Hatha Yoga, Trauma-Informed Practice, Yoga Nidra (restorative/meditation), Vinyasa Yoga, Restorative Practices. I have extensive experience of working within the mental health (and homelessness) sector - in a variety of front line/crisis and managerial roles.
  • What inspired to you to become a therapist?
    It's an absolute passion of mine to support people, through therapy, to live the life they want. I am endlessly fascinated by how our brains work and how we can change not only how we behave but how we think. This can be incredibly powerful, especially when it comes to changing long-standing, unhelpful behaviours or negative thinking patterns. Our capacity to change how we experience our day to day life is phenomenal (no matter what your age is) and we can live a more freeing life! Every single client I work with continually deepens my passion for this work. Due to my work and personal experience, I’ve always been drawn to the field of mental health and working with people to feel better in themselves and have hope. I personally have used solution focused hypnotherapy for pregnancy/birth. I found it to be incredibly effective and so empowering in helping me to feel in control - so much so that I decided to become a qualified Clinical Hypnotherapist and Psychotherapist! Separately, yoga has been a grounding force and vital part of my life for nearly 2 decades. I am a trauma-informed yoga facilitator with a special interest in: the healing power of somatic movement; how trauma can be held in the body; how hormones affect both physical and mental wellbeing; the benefits of yoga for anxiety and chronic pain.
